About the artists:
Diah Poucin is a French artist born in Indonesia, currently residing in Singapore for the past six years. Before moving to Singapore, she lived in Paris for 30 years, working as a fashion designer. Diah has been passionate about drawing since childhood and is entirely self-taught, having never received formal art instruction. While she considers herself an amateur, she has participated in collective exhibitions in Morocco, Paris, Toulouse and now Singapore. For Diah, painting is a moment of peace and reflection. She particularly enjoys observing animals and bringing them to life in her artworks, which primarily use watercolor and egg tempera. Her style is deeply influenced by Asian art, especially Japanese painting.
Jerome Poucin is a French engineer working in Singapore in the telecommunications field, far removed from the world of art. Completely self-taught, he recently rekindled his desire to paint, focusing primarily on egg tempera and oil painting. Jerome paints slowly, without any formal technique, often allowing chance to shape his works. His paintings are inspired by memories and emotions from his many travels, but the final result is often unpredictable and far from his original vision. For Jerome, there is a deep satisfaction in bringing emotion to life on a blank canvas. The challenge remains in sharing that emotion with others.
