STILL / LIFE begins with time spent drawing together in our space — quiet observation, slow moments, and shared focus.
This short series invites participants to attend at least one of our intimate life drawing sessions at Drawing Etc. Creative Space. Each session is capped at 6 participants, offering quiet time to observe, draw, and reflect in the company of others.
Works created during these sessions form the foundation of a small exhibition and a curated zine. Every participant will select their most resonant piece(s) from the sessions for display in our space. The exhibition will be casual, artist-led, and true to the energy of the sessions that shaped it.
The accompanying zine will feature selected drawings from each artist, as well as brief reflections and process fragments — a quiet documentation of shared time and mark-making. It will be sold at Drawing Etc., with profits shared among the contributing artists.
This project is anchored in our physical space and the sessions themselves. Only works made during the sessions will be eligible for exhibition and zine inclusion. It is not a call-for-entries — it is a call to show up, draw, and be part of a moment together.
We invite participants to engage with our space — not just as a backdrop, but as a collaborator. The textures, scale, light, and atmosphere of Drawing Etc. will naturally shape the way we observe and draw, becoming part of the works themselves.

Artistic Sensitivity in Life Drawing
A strong understanding of figure drawing fundamentals — proportion, gesture, and anatomy — expressed through a personal, thoughtful approach. Style may vary, but clarity of observation is key.
-
A Distinctive Voice or Perspective
We value artists who bring something unique — whether in mark-making, material, or conceptual lens — to how they respond to the figure and the space.
-
Commitment to Drawing as a Practice
Evidence of ongoing engagement with drawing from life, showing dedication and the ability to contribute meaningfully to the sessions and outcomes.
-
Openness to Community and Process
This is a collaborative and artist-led project. We’re looking for participants who are respectful, engaged, and excited to draw, reflect, and exhibit in the company of others.
-
Potential for Contribution to the Zine
We welcome artists with a willingness to explore beyond the page — those who can contribute reflections, sketches, or fragments of thought to accompany the drawings.
*Selection is based on expressions of interest. Shortlisted artists will be contacted to confirm participation and session dates.
